One day when i was playing piano. I came up with this idea...
The melody of the songs are amazing that it sounds like our life. How beautiful and amazing our lives are, living under good condition in such an materialistic city.
However, in my own view, the melody in a piano is fixed with the limited level / amount of pitch. Seems like we are still limited by the piano key with its boring ordinary design from old ages till now. So I come up with my body art work as this.
The meaning of this art work is that " We are the one to create our own life~"
We hold our lives and create it. Do not hesitate with the limitation, with our own hand and fingers, we can play millions of melodies and create millions of chances for ourselves.
Every piano has same length for every piano key and therefore, every piano plays the same melody. However, we need to admit that people have their own strengths and weaknesses. Everyone are unique like my fingers showing the diversity of people, talent and characteristics which there are longer and shorter. No matter hows the length, the melody and the appearance, our life are holding on our hands. Just play the piano well with what we are given,

回覆刪除I think the artwork itself have a strong message or background that people can imagine even it is only presented without words.
Black and white is always the super match. We use hands to play piano, which use a lot of time to practice. However, the hands become the black-piano keyboard instead of playing the original one. That’s impressive, especially for the hands are full of wrinkle and painted black. It indicates that playing piano needs a lot of practice.(like a Chinese saying:”台上十分 台下十年功”) I love the message that it gives.
I think you can add a non-painted hand to play that fake piano. That’s funnier. :D
The Idea of cecilia’s work is great and innovation! The concept of the art was “We can the one create our own life” is brilliant. When I was looking into the photo, I really thought the finger was the part of piano. Also, the work is very creative as we are the student of CM !!!!!!!!

Really nice idea and presentation, your thought can thoroughly expressed with simply one picture.
回覆刪除"We hold our lives and create it. " it echoes with using your own hands as piano, because the word "hold" cannot happen without the "hand".
The different lengths of the fingers also refer to the different talents and diversity of people as said.
This is a simple and easy to understand idea.
